Afternoon On Red Hill
Journal Entry: Thu May 8, 2008, 4:37 AM
Well school finished at lunch as it does on thursdays, and I was a-thinking to myself 'how to spend my day...'
I have taken enough photos of cats, backyard, trees, dog, etc and the thought of climbing Red Hill entered my mind. So off I set with camera, mountain bike and fellow sibling to see what wonders I could capture today.
I had only got to the foot of the hill when I realised I was so not fit any more, but that level was not inspiring enough, I needed height, wildlife, adventure.
Not long after continuing up the hill I spotted a little kangaroo, who hopped over to a heap of roos.
After I was satisfied with my photos and they had decided not to trust me any longer, I rode to the 'saddle' of the hill, where various flocks of cockatoos had headed. In reaching the top it was quite exciting, as the birds flew in groups of 10-20 almost close enough to touch!!
They screamed over head and I must have stood there an hour trying to catch them in flight. But when the sun was gone and around 200 photos was enough, we headed home. And as we rode up the path to our house mum and my oldest brother were there. Mum had just got A CAMERA the canon 40d with two 'white' lenses I don't remember now what ones. So it's all very exciting and I am really liking my camera and photos!
Hoping other people do too!
